EROSIONE

Costantino Belmonte

adesso senza.

Io mi sporgo e rientro

come certe coste, le mie frasi scomposte,

quasi smussato – amore – apprezzo

EROSION

Costantino Belmonte

I ‘m at the list of things that change:

you and summer are past – the latter

among the landscapes, you a profile

that shatters within them, still a part

of mine

       but once bearing feathers,

now without.

I lean out and back in

like certain coasts, my fragmented lines,

the jigsaw edge of the clouds, the hills

and your torn hair – in the superfluity of the world,

like the jagged confine

between those that unite and never match;

almost blunted – amore – I appreciate

your mediocre tools, your inaccurate hammer

and this uncalled for blow: I am still cutting,

dry and sharp among the stones

to which other rivers were kinder

and which none of your caresses have consumed much.
