VENTI LEGGERI (Siciliano)

Di Patrizia Sardisco

.

ciusciano venti troppu leggi

venti vacanti

appinnuti ‘o nenti

si nni nnurì ‘u sbattiri

.

a bella virità!

un sunnu morti nostri

vuciata niura

fora purtata  _  fora ra porta

nta chiazza  ‘i vozza chini

‘un va na mazza

.

unni mi votu votu

munita fora cursu

liri c’un cantinu

e comu mai putissiru

senza na lingua schitta

senza rraricuni

LIGHT WINDS

By Patrizia Sardisco

.

light winds are blowing

vacant winds

suspended from nothing

heartbeats harden

.

what’s to worry?

they are not our dead

black the cry

out of reach _out of doors

in squares where bellies brim

no-one gives a damn

.

wherever I look

out of circulation the coins

out of song the lira

how could it be otherwise

when tongues are not pure

when roots are not deep

.

VENTI LEGGERI (Italiano)

Di Patrizia Sardisco

.

Soffiano venti futili,

leggeri e appesi a un vuoto

se n’è indurito il battere

.

non sono nostri i morti

l’urlo nero

extraterritoriale

vela la piazza liquida

vale un soldo bucato

.

anche le lire, in tralice

fuori corso

stonano_ non cantano

.

e come mai potrebbero

prive di lingua umana

LIGHT WINDS

By Patrizia Sardisco

.

Futile winds blow,

light and suspended from a void

hardened are the beats

.

they are not our dead

black the cries

extraterritorial

shrouds the liquid square

not worth a dime

.

the lira too, askance

out of circulation

out of tune_out of song

.

and how could it be

shorn of a human voice

.
