Foglie gialle

Ma dove ve ne andate,
povere foglie gialle,
come tante farfalle
Venite da lontano
o da vicino?
Da un bosco
o da un giardino?
E non sentite la malinconia
del vento stesso
che vi porta via?
Yellow leaves

But where are you going,
poor yellow leaves,
like flutters of butterflies,
Are you coming from near
or afar?
From a forest
or an orchard?
And don’t you feel the melancholy
of the wind itself
that’s sweeping you away?
