Valerio Grutt was born in Naples in 1983. He has published the collections: Una città chiamata le sei di mattina (Edizioni della Meridiana, 2009), Qualcuno dica buonanotte (Alla chiara fonte editore 2013), Andiamo (Edizioni Pulcinoelefante 2013), Però qualcosa chiama (Edizioni Alos 2014); and selected poems in Poeti italiani underground (Ed. Il saggiatore 2006) and Centrale di Transito (Perrone Editore 2016). From 2013 to 2016 he was the director of the Centro di Poesia Contemporanea at the University of Bologna creating, among other things Le parole necessarie, in collaboration with Policlinico Sant’Orsola. He is the editor of a la Piccola collana di poesia Heket and one of the editors of the blog Interno Poesia. He manages the volunteer group René Mey Italia. He also creates performances and labs in collaboration with numerous artists and musicians.
