Pierluigi Cappello

(Non sono solo nuvole le nuvole

che nuvola più nuvola più nuvola

fanno disfanno nel cielo figure

di maghi di draghi o serpi o sirene

ma sillaba più sillaba con cura

staccano voci musiche serene

queste che fra parentesi ho posate

sulla prora di nuvole d’estate)

Pierluigi Cappello

(They are not only clouds the clouds

which cloud plus cloud plus cloud

ravel unravel in the sky imagery

of wizards of lizards or serpents or Sirens

but syllable plus syllable carefully

subtract voices music serene

these which I set between brackets here

on the prow of clouds in summer)
