Forse la giovinezza è solo questo
perenne amare i sensi e non pentirsi
Perhaps youth is just this
never-ending love of the senses and no regrets

Sandro Penna (June 12, 1906 – January 21, 1977) was an Italian poet born in Perugia. He collaborated with several newspapers but wrote mostly poetry. His first poems were published in 1932, through the intervention of Umberto Saba. Openly gay, Penna’s works reflected his melancholy view of homosexuality as segregation.
